Any VEC applicants that needs placement testing can visit our Pima Placement Testing Information page to see the steps to complete their placement.

Placement testing is needed if an applicant:

  • Is a current junior (11th grade) and has an unweighted (simple) cumulative high school GPA below 3.25.

  • is a current sophomore (10th grade)

Applications for the VEC for the 2025-26SY were due by January 23rd. Applicants that needed placement test can submit their VEC application prior to taking their Pima placement tests.

NOTE: The deadline for placement for all VEC applicants is January 31st. Placement date in Pima's system must be on or before this date! (This date was extended from the original January 26th deadline).


In order for your VEC application to be eligible for evaluation, you must have placement at Pima for the following courses:

  • MAT 151/187

  • WRT 101 (please note, this is different from WRT 101S)

  • REA 112
