Dear Parents, As per VUSD’s mission statement, we exist to ". . . provide parents with safe and nurturing school communities where their children can obtain a quality education." Each year we compare results to the results of prior years and look for trends in improvement and areas that need attention. Looking for a good reason not to fix dinner tonight? Head on over to Arby's on Old Vail Road from 4-10 p.m. where 50% of all proceeds will go to the Vail School District Foundation. The Foundation supports VUSD teacher grants and student scholarships. They have awarded more than $150,000 in the last five years! See you there!

Justin Villard, Andrada High School Engineering teacher, has his students work with 5th graders at Senita Valley Elementary to provide backpack tags for them! The 5th graders fill out interest forms on things that they enjoy and then the high school engineering students use the engineering process to design a backpack tag and give the 5th graders options and they select which tag they like the most. Then, they create a blueprint on CAD (computer aided drafting) software, 3-D print the tag, and yesterday they delivered in person to the students. We are so lucky to have great partnerships like this one among our schools!
