The Golden Bell is ringing again in Vail! The Vail School District is thrilled to share the remarkable news that Vail Early College has been selected as the first place recipient of the esteemed ASBA 2023 Golden Bell Promise Program Award in the high school category. The award recognizes and celebrates initiatives and programs from schools across the state that have excelled in nurturing the potential of each student while achieving exceptional growth and success.
Vail Early College is the first program of its kind in the state. It serves as a bridge for students between high school and college. Open to any high school senior in Vail, students attend their senior year at Pima Community College East campus and earn college credits while learning to be successful college students. They also enroll in two courses taught on campus by Vail teachers including College Success and US Government.
Students are taught how to navigate college life by two on site Vail staff who ensure students have the support necessary for success. The students are still able to participate in activities at their Vail high school and receive their high school diploma, while earning on average 27 college credits. Vail Early College students are being met with tremendous success and bright futures!
