"Building Outstanding Leaders Through Service"
Meet the Mica Mountain Principal
Nemer Hassey, a Tucson native, is in his 30th year in education. Nemer graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education, focusing on math, and from Northern Arizona University with a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. Now, Mr. Hassey serves as the principal of the newest school in the Vail School District, Mica Mountain High School. He is excited to put all his effort into building one of the best comprehensive high schools in Arizona.

Transportation Policy and Zones
Vail USD High School Transportation Policy
High school students residing within a mile and a half radius with walking paths to the school do not receive bus transportation to and from school unless hazardous or difficult walking routes exist.
Students who live beyond the mile and a half radius receive transportation to Mica Mountain IF they reside in the Mica Mountain transportation zone.
Vail USD Transportation Zones
The Vail School District does not have attendance boundaries for its high schools so that parents may choose which high school is the best fit for their children. However, we do utilize transportation zones for Cienega and Mica Mountain, our two large comprehensive high schools, to best provide transportation in a fiscally responsible manner.
Please note that if you do not live within the Mica Mountain Transportation Zone, your placement at Mica Mountain High School is unlikely.
If you would like to check your home address, and see which Transportation Zone you live in, CLICK HERE to go to our InfoFinder site, type in your address, and scroll through the bus routes to see if there is a bus stop for the school you are seeking.
Please note: Pick up and drop off times are for the current school year. They are all subject to change for the 2023/2024 school year.
