What We Do

To ensure that Vail is a place, "Where Education Is a Community Effort," we strive to make the community an integral part of our schools and district efforts. We work to utilize the community’s gifts and talents and encourage their influence on our young people.

The Community Connections and Student Supports Department is twofold:

  • We ensure connections and relationships are strong with Vail's businesses, faith leaders, volunteers, and community who all work towards the effort of educating our students.

  • We ensure students and staff have every opportunity to find connections, support, and success in their lives.

Because VUSD is first and foremost an educational organization, we work to ensure our students and families have the tools and help to open the doors to success including behaviorally, socially, emotionally, physically, and more.

Who We Support

Strong communities feed strong schools, and strong schools encourage healthy communities. In Vail, we know that both are critical to student success, and as such, we provide opportunities for support across the community.

Healthy and happy students are best able to experience academic achievement and growth. As such, Vail works to support students and families who might be struggling in order to ensure maximum growth in all areas of our children.

Different groups of professionals work within our schools for this purpose and are found below. See the areas where they specialize and how they can provide assistance.
