PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Veterinary Assisting Program at Andrada Polytechnic High School prepares students for a career in the Animal Industry and more specifically as a Veterinary Practice Assistant. Students learn hands on skills and knowledge needed for a successful career in Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry. Students earn a certificate that allows them to go right to work in any veterinary facility, but many students have continued on to other careers such as Zoology, Biology and Biomedical Engineering.

*This class is an advantage should they choose to pursue their Veterinary Technology Associates Degree and become a Certified Veterinary Technician.
*** Dual Enrollment is always evolving and there may be times in which dual enrollment standards may change by the entity offering dual enrollment. Every effort possible will be made to maintain dual enrollment each year, but there may be times that the school and college may not be able to align due to differing standards and needs.
